Court documents have revealed unsettling new details in the ongoing investigation into the death of Michael Ross, whose body was allegedly kept in the trunk of a vehicle for two days before being discovered by police following a pursuit in Regina, Saskatchewan.
According to records presented in court, Ross’s body was transported in the trunk of a Chrysler 300 before police located the vehicle on January 19, after officers attempted a traffic stop around 3 a.m. near Saskatchewan Drive and Albert Street. The driver reportedly fled, prompting a pursuit that ended when the vehicle was tracked by the Regina Police Service Aerial Support Unit to the 1400 block of Princess Street. When officers arrived, the occupants had fled on foot. A search of the vehicle later uncovered the body of a deceased man in the trunk.
As the investigation progressed, Steven Lee Myslichuk, 37, was arrested on January 26 and appeared in Regina Provincial Court on January 28. His case has been adjourned to February 4. Myslichuk is charged with assisting a person who committed murder to help them evade justice. He also faces a charge of indignity to human remains, with court documents alleging he placed Ross’s body into a hockey bag, loaded it into the vehicle’s trunk, and drove around the city.
A second accused, Kobe Samuel Fiddler, 26, made his first court appearance on January 27. His matter was adjourned to January 30 to allow time to obtain legal counsel. Fiddler is facing several charges, including interfering with human remains by transporting the body while being pursued by police, assisting someone who committed murder, possession and concealment of a pellet gun, and possession of a firearm while prohibited.
Investigators have also secured a residence in the Pioneer Village area, in the 3700 block of Dewdney Avenue, as part of the broader investigation into Ross’s death. Police say the case remains active and that additional charges or developments are possible as evidence continues to be reviewed.
The Regina Police Service is urging anyone with information related to the case to contact police at 306-777-6500 or Regina Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
The disturbing allegations surrounding the handling of Michael Ross’s body have drawn widespread attention, underscoring the seriousness of the charges now before the courts. Proceedings for both accused are ongoing as authorities continue working to determine the full circumstances surrounding Ross’s death.
