KEOKUK, IA — The Keokuk community is mourning the peaceful passing of Cynthia “Cindy” Faye Stuckwisch, 78, who died Sunday, January 25, 2026, at Birkwood Village in Fort Madison, Iowa, with her son at her side. Her life was celebrated for warmth, creativity, and a devotion to family, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.

Born on November 9, 1947, in Keokuk to Ed and Orpha (Roth) Dawson, Cindy graduated from Keokuk High School in 1966 and spent many years working at Decker Manufacturing, where she was admired for her dedication, reliability, and friendly nature.

A devoted Christian, Cindy’s faith guided her throughout her life, shaping her gentle and loving spirit. She delighted in the simple pleasures—tending her garden, crafting, collecting teddy bears and hand sculptures, and enjoying her cherished card club gatherings. Cindy treasured lifelong friendships, including a childhood friend with whom she shared two unforgettable Beatles concerts, moments she remembered fondly for decades.

Cindy is survived by her son, Christopher Sean (Gina) McGinnis of Keokuk; three grandchildren, Courtney Elaine Moore of Burlington, Iowa, Megan (Glenn) White of Sibley, Missouri, and Connor Decker McGinnis of Cedar Falls, Iowa; and her great-grandson, Asher. She also leaves behind beloved aunts and cousins who will deeply miss her presence and care. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Charles “Duff” Decker, her brother Michael (Jean) Bollinger, and her great-granddaughter Kinsley Moore.

Visitation to honor Cindy’s life will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at DeJong-Printy Funeral Home in Keokuk. A graveside service will follow in the spring at Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton. In recognition of her lifelong compassion for children and animals, memorial contributions may be directed to Bentley’s Playground or PAWS Animal Shelter, reflecting Cindy’s belief that both kids and kittens matter.

Cindy’s legacy will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, and joyful presence. She brought beauty, warmth, and care into the lives of all who knew her, leaving a lasting imprint on her family, friends, and the Keokuk community. Her spirit will continue to inspire love and generosity in those she touched.
